Once the Old Blacksmiths Cottage, The Lilac Cottage was opened in 1999 as a luxury self contained bed and breakfast. Artistically decorated with Australian Antiques throughout, this enchanting bed and breakfast reflects a sense of period style. While every detail captures old world charm, all modern conveniences have been provided for your comfort. We offer two open fires, reverse cycle air conditioning, beautiful spa, shower, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities, colour and satellite television, plus video and compact disc players.

The Lilac Cottage is generously stocked with everything you need for a hearty cooked breakfast, including Shultz's famous double smoked bacon and tomatoes, wonderful Sunrise Bakery country bread, eggs, jams, a large range of cereals, fresh rainwater, tea, plunger, instant coffee, whole or lite milk, juice, butter, a bowl of fresh fruit, handcrafted chocolates, and a decanter of port.

The Cottage opens on to a large park at the rear. An outdoor setting and barbeque facilities are located under the 120 year old currant vine, which graces the pergola. The growing in-house library is a special feature - one of the many little extras we are able to provide such as tours, therapeutic massages, picnic baskets, balloon flights, in house dining and much more.

While you have total privacy in the cottage, you can always contact us at our Getaways Office which is located in the main street of Tanunda - open weekdays 10.30am to 5.30pm and weekends 12 noon to 5pm or just give us a call to provide further tourist information.
